Maui Photo Festival in September

Over a period of many years, the inspiration of visual beauty on the island of Maui has turned it into one of the great meccas of the art world. Galleries from countless famous artists can be found lining the streets of Paia, Lahaina, Makawao and several other areas on the island. Not only do artists sell their work here, but they produce it here as well. That is because, according to so many inspiration-seekers, there is something special about Maui that you just need to feel for yourself in order to understand.

The diversity in Maui scenes must certainly add to its appeal. To kindle your inner artist, would you prefer tranquil white-sand beaches with flat, aqua waters and soft breezes or misty green hills climbing a colossal mountain, adorned with a scattering of majestic trees. On Maui, you will find haunting, rocky shores lying under the ceaseless worry of wind and waves beneath an eerily veiled moon and you will find tranquil pools warmed in smooth riverbeds under a hot sun and wrapped in as much greenery as you can imagine. As you can guess by now, even writing about Maui's beauty can become an artistic experience whether one plans for it or not!

In the spirit of inspiration, a photo festival is scheduled to take place on Maui between September 16th and 20th. Hosted by the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa on Kaanapali Beach, the full breadth of photographic possibilities will be explored and celebrated throughout this festival.

Digital photography will be a subject of discussion as will a dialogue on the ways that digital photography has changed the art. There are many new developments in photography due to technological advances. A blend of classroom sessions will be offered as well as location shoots and real-world demonstrations and assignments. Participants will enjoy a lot of hands-on opportunities to explore photography and excursions will be led by professional photographers.

There is only room for about 350 attendees to this event so visit mauiphotofestival.com to get any additional information that you might need about attending.

If you are interested in new developments on Maui, we recommend a look at the wonderful Lanikeha project. For vacant land sales, check the Kaanapali Golf Villas. There are also some very nice Puamana Condos for sale. Remember, if you have any questions not answered on our website, you can call (800) 367-5632 or email us at info@whalersrealty.com. We would love to assist you. Mahalo!
