The festivities will include plant sales, lectures, green industry representatives, demonstrations and, of course, ono food! To top it off, a thousand Hawaiian trees will be given away!
The Maui Invasive Species Committee (MISC) will present their 2009 Malama i ka 'Aina Award to the landscape professional that best promotes and aids the use of non-invasive plants on Maui. The award will be presented at 12:15p.m.
The event is sponsored by the DLNR Kaulunani Program, the Maui County Department of Water Supply, the Maui County Farm Bureau and the Maui Electric Company, as well as the MNBG and MALP, of course.
If you are interested in Maui landscaping for the climate, there will be experts available to answer your questions at this event. The purpose of this event is to educate the community on planting the right trees in the right place while enjoying the aesthetic benefits of trees.
