National Decline of November Job Losses

The number of job losses nationwide declined sharply in November to the lowest level since the recession began. While some economists estimated that November's job losses would hit around 111,000, the actual number was 11,000 according to the U.S. Department of Labor (USDL).
Industries with job losses were in construction, manufacturing and information industries but were offset by gains in temporary help services and health care industries. Employment in professional and business services rose by 86,000 in November.
The majority of increases were in temporary help services which added 52,000 jobs in November and 117,000 since July according to the USDL. The rise in health care employment added 21,000 jobs last moth and 613,000 since the beginning of the recession in December of 2007. Last month's increase included 7,000 gains in hospitals and 7,000 for in-home health care services.
The report has also inspired confidence in the economy, seems to have spurred many gains in the stock market. It's hard not to be optimistic now, considering all the signs pointing to the beginning of a turnaround.
